Apart from Theo threatening to sue me for putting that picture up, it's been quiet around these parts. Not so quiet that I haven't been on the run from The Pacific Heights Mugger, who is apparently waiting around to mug me. Nor avoiding the Halloween madness. Last year in San Francisco something like nine people got stabbed and a few died and 29 injured at the parade, so this year they really cracked the whip and had a ton of cops out. Only one guy got shot and four stabbed, so it was a big success.

I went and looked at Mike's new house, which was kind of shocking for 700,000 dollars. Not that it was bad, it was just a stark reminder that you don't get much around here for that kind of money.

I suppose the biggest excitement around here was when I went upstairs to ask my neighbor to turn down his tv. He is quite a large specimen, and he rides a motorcycle to boot. He was not friendly, and even though after speaking to him I had to whimper for about ten minutes in the privacy of my bed, I think it was good to confront him. He seems to have powerful subwoofers aimed at the floor and watches movies like the Matrix at high volume.

Speaking of movies, I watched Sexy Beast, which, even though I saw it once already, really holds up. I highly reccommend it. I also watched the Maltese Falcon, which is great. And I watched Diner, which didn't really hold up. I thought it was a great coming of age movie when I saw it as I was coming of age, but aparently I was stupid then.

Soon it will be time to buy that rifle I've been meaning to get to shoot the motorcyclists who rev their engines at night outside my window. In case you are curious, that is called "racking the pipes".
