What a weekend. In anticipation of the best birthday ever, we went to Alcatraz. Which was pretty fun, in a prison visiting kind of way. I have to say, it was not what I was expecting.

The place hasn't had prisoners for about 30 years, but since that time, they didn't paint or maintain it in any way. So you get to see the spot on the floor where they killed a prisoner who tried to escape, and the spot is kind of black and charred, because they threw a stick of dynamite on him. There was also, almost creepier than the actual place, a tour guide lady who was an albino who had a screechy voice. She told the story of some notable prisoners escaping, and how they stole hair from the barber to make fake heads and all that.

She was pretty creepy.

Then we saw the Station Agent, which was a very well done movie about a midget who lives in a rail road building. Kind of a sad story but still a worthy movie.
