Apparently some people think I talk too much about my day in my little blog here, that I don't do enough grand sweeping oratory, or riffs about politics or funny observational humor about airplane food or generally say things that might be easily be cut and pasted into a book compiling my wit. All I can say to all that is this: easy to criticize, hard to do better. I just tell it like it is.

Speaking of my day and the minute details thereof, it was king of a doozy. For some reason the news from the contractor who gave his estimate today, that the farm was basically not savable, and should be knocked down, came as a blow. It is not really that much of a surprise, having seen it for myself, but still, it had a kind of crushing impact to get the official sanction. That came on top of Spaulding Gray being disappeared and presumed dead. Not that Spud was really a friend, but we met a few times and talked and he was a nice man, or at least nice to me, and I was a big fan of his work.

Then at work for some reason I had to go to a bunch of meetings where I had to defend things and it wasn't going smoothly for me. A little pressure, is all I'm saying, nothing I can't handle. But in general, it was the kind of day that left me feeling a little winded. Plus lately I have been fighting with my computer and this morning I got up at 6 am to call customer service and try and straighten things out, which made me late for work when I finally got off the phone with them at 8:15. But I'm happy to report things sort of worked out with the computer.
